Looking after our players | Academy playercare interview

We sat down with our head of academy player care, Natalie Wood, to provide an insight into her role throughout our academy so far this season!

Natalie's job is to look after our academy players as people, while the coaches focus on the football.

She works across our academy, from our under-9s through to our third-year scholars who are based with the first team.

At this time of year, she's working particularly closely with our under-16s and our under-18s, who face big decisions about their careers as scholarships and professional contracts are handed out, respectively.

Natalie shone a light on what her role involves and explained the importance of looking after the person behind the player.
