Salop kick off life in League Two this weekend by welcoming Andy Woodman’s Bromley to the Croud Meadow.

It is the first ever encounter between the two teams, so let’s take a look at everything you need to know about Saturday’s visitors before the big kick-off.  

Key Players 

Non-league legend Michael Cheek made the most of his debut season in League Two, netting 25 goals for the Ravens, securing the League Two golden boot in the process.  

Bromley’s success last season was also built on strong defensive foundations, with centre-back Omar Sowunmi being one of the league’s standout performers.  

The Manager 

Former goalkeeper Andy Woodman took charge of Bromley in 2021, making him one of the longest-reigning managers in the league.  

He won the FA Trophy in his first full season at the club and topped that a few years later by guiding Bromley to a first-ever promotion to the Football League, winning the play-off final on penalties at the end of the 23/24 campaign.   

Form  

Bromley have spent their pre-season in and around London, hosting Spurs, Palace under-21s and Millwall. A young side also made the trip to Kent to take on Chatham Town on Tuesday night, losing 1-0.  

The senior team’s final pre-season match at home against Millwall. They lost 2-1 with Idris Odutayo grabbing a late consolation for the hosts.
