Salop will look to secure back-to-back three points for the first time this season when we host Crawley Town at the Croud Meadow this afternoon.

Here’s everything you need to know about the opposition as we look to make it seven points from our last possible nine.

Key Players

Summer signing Harry McKirdy has looked like one of Crawley’s liveliest players so far this season, grabbing four goals and two assists in his first 12 appearances for the club. The attacker has struggled to find form since leaving Swindon in 2022, but Scott Lindsey appears to have found a way to get a tune out of him so far.

Ryan Loft grabbed his first league goal for the Red Devils in last weekend’s 1-1 draw. The Cambridge loanee had a rough start to his time in West Sussex after being sent off in his first game for the club. He will look to make the number 9 role his own and build on last week’s goal.

The Manager

After leaving the club to go to MK Dons midway through last season, Scott Lindsey returned to West Sussex at the end of March, but was powerless to stop the team’s relegation.

Lindsey defied all of the odds during his first spell at Crawley, guiding the club to promotion from League Two via the play-offs. Since returning to the club, he has a 33.3% win record, winning eight of his 24 games in charge.

Form

Crawley have struggled with life back in League Two so far. The club have won two of their opening 12 games, sitting on nine points in 21st place. They come into Saturday’s game on a winless run of four games, having lost three of those games.

However, they picked up a more-than-deserved draw against table-topping Walsall last weekend, and will be looking to build on that result later today.

Head-to-Head Record

We first encountered Crawley following their promotion to the Football League in 2011. Since then, we have played each other 10 times, with us winning four, drawing four, and losing just twice.
