Salop take a trip to the Fylde Coast today to take on Fleetwood Town.

Michael Appleton’s team will look to secure a fourth win in six matches and continue their climb up the table. Let’s take a look at everything you need to know about this afternoon's opponents.

Key Players

Former Salop defender James Bolton has been a key player for Fleetwood so far this season. Bolton is in his second season at the club and has started all but one of their league games to date. As well as being a rock at the back, he has also chipped in two goals so far, with his most recent coming two weeks ago in their 2-1 loss to Crawley.

At the other end of the pitch, Irishman Ryan Graydon will be the biggest attacking threat. Graydon has scored five times in 16 appearances this season, including the equaliser in last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Swindon.

Experienced striker Ched Evans was also back in the side for Fleetwood after missing their FA Cup trip to Port Vale.

The Manager

Former Barrow manager Pete Wild is the man in charge of the Cod Army. Wild was appointed last Christmas Eve, and his first year in the job has delivered a steady set of results. He has overseen 47 games, winning 17, losing 15, and drawing 15.

Form

Fleetwood come into Saturday’s game on a good run of form. They have taken eight points from their last five games, winning two, drawing two, and losing one. Their solitary defeat in that run came away at Crawley, a game they played with 10 men for 80 minutes.

They currently sit 13th in the table, three points outside the play-offs and level with Cambridge and Barnet.

Head-to-Head Record

Fleetwood reached the Football League for the first time in 2012. As such, our history with them is brief compared to other teams in the league. We first met the Cod Army in 2015, losing 2-1 away. Since then, we have faced each other a further 20 times. Our current record is nine losses, six wins and six draws.
