Match Preview
Salop are on the road for the second time in four days as they head to Wiltshere to take on Swindon Town today.
Here’s everything you need to know about this afternoon's hosts.
Key Players
Harry Smith would've been the one to watch for Swindon Town this season, however the 30-year-old ruptured his ACL during Tuesday night's clash with Barnet.
Experienced striker Tom Nichols is likely to be the key attacking threat, while young forward Princewell Ehibhatiomhan has hit the ground running after joining on loan from Southampton. The pair opened their accounts for the season against Oldham and Cardiff respectively in the last couple of matches.
21-year-old Joseph Snowdon - who signed on a free from Leeds in the summer - has looked exciting in his first few appearances, netting one for himself and providing the assist for Nichols at Boundary Park last Saturday.
The Manager
Ian Holloway is a man who needs little introduction. He is one of the most experienced managers in League Two, having managed in the Premier League with Blackpool and Crystal Palace.
Holloway joined Swindon in October 2024, four years after a disappointing spell at Grimsby Town. Despite a shaky start, Holloway has steadied the ship at the County Ground. He has won 18 of his 42 games in charge, guiding the team to a 12th-place finish last season.
Form
Swindon have had a topsy-turvy start to their campaign, winning two, losing two, and currently sitting 12th in the table. The Robins have won one and lost one in their opening two home games, defeating Cambridge United 3-2 in a thriller in the second weekend of the season before falling to a 2-0 defeat to Barnet on Tuesday night.
Head-to-Head Record
Swindon have been regular sparring partners for Salop throughout our history. We have played the Robins 64 times, winning 17, drawing 17, and losing 30. Our recent record has been solid, with Swindon not having registered a victory over us in our last four meetings.
