Post-Cambridge | Michael Appleton
Michael Appleton met with the media after watching his Shrewsbury side fall to a cruel defeat at Cambridge.
A 90th minute penalty from Ben Knight broke Town's hearts as Neil Harris's side continued their outstanding home form.
Appleton's side more than deserved a point as they hit the road for the second time in the space of a few days.
Debutant Matt Cox had made a good save to deny Sully Kaikai early in the game.
But that moment aside, the hosts offered little - with Josh Ruffles inches away from putting Town ahead shortly after the interval.
In the 90th minute though, Cambridge got a fortuitous penalty when Luca Hoole was judged to have handled the ball - with Knight going on to convert.
Speaking to the media post-match, Appleton said the hosts never should have ben awarded the late spot-kick.
He also discussed the overall performance and his hopes of making further additions this month.
