Michael Appleton chatted to the media after watching his Shrewsbury side secure a 1-0 win against Newport.

Salop made it three straight wins at the Croud Meadow thanks to a rocket from Anthony Scully.

In truth, Town should have won by a much greater margin with Tommy McDermott, Josh Ruffels, John Marquis and Ismeal Kabia all going close.

Speaking to the assembled press, Michael said he was pleased with his team's overall display - with Will Brook only called into one real save.

The boss also praised his defence - who have now kept four clean sheets in the last eight games.

And Michael chatted about the impact of Anthony Scully - who has now scored four goals in his last six games.
