Interviews

Post Walsall | Tom Anderson

Tom Anderson chatted to the press after scoring his first Shrewsbury goal in the 1-1 draw at Walsall.

The centre-back netted with a strike from 20 yards to earn a point for Michael Appleton's side in what was a thoroughly entertaining Midlands derby.

Daniel Kanu opened the scoring for the hosts with an excellent turn and finish inside the opening five minutes.

But Salop began hammering on the Walsall door after half-time - with Anderson's strike a thoroughly deserved equaliser.

From that point, the game was like a basketball match with both teams having chances to win it.

Speaking post-match, Anderson admitted - overall - a draw was probably the fairest result.

The defender also discussed the emotion of scoring in front of 1,200 travelling Salopians and the team extending its unbeaten run to four matches.
