Michael Appleton has urged his Shrewsbury players to be the story, not the headline as they prepare to face Sutton in the FA Cup.

Town travel to south-west London tomorrow to take on the National League side, with a place in the iconic third round of the competition up for grabs.

The tie kicks off at 5.15pm and will be shown live on both TNT Sports and BBC Two.

With Sutton in good form, Appleton acknowledged that broadcasters will be hoping for a cup upset - but the boss has called for a thoroughly professional performance from his side, similar to the one that saw Salop overcome South Shields in the first round.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Appleton also reflected on last weekend’s draw with Gillingham and praised Isaac England after the midfielder impressed on his return to the starting XI.
