Shrewsbury Town academy players enjoy music session with Charlie Hodgson Music

Shrewsbury Town’s academy players were given a unique opportunity last week as they took part in a music taster session with professional guitarist Charlie Hodgson.

With more than 20 years of experience, Charlie has performed at some of the world’s most prestigious events, entertaining audiences of over 40,000 and working with leading musician hire agencies. 

But away from the spotlight, his work takes on a different focus.

Charlie specialises in private guitar mentorship for high-performance individuals, including professional athletes operating under intense pressure.

Having worked with some of the UK’s elite, his approach centres on calm, confidence and creativity - offering a refreshing contrast to the demands of life in sport.

During the session, academy players enjoyed a relaxed sing-along and the chance to pick up a guitar themselves, experiencing first-hand how music can provide a positive and creative outlet away from the pitch.

As well as working with our academy players, Charlie also entertained participants at our Extra Hub run by the Shrewsbury Town Foundation.
