Timings confirmed for Remembrance Match
Shrewsbury Town will honour armed forces past and present at our home game against Newport on November 15.
Each year, we are proud to host a Remembrance Match in tribute to service personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
The match against Newport is our closest home fixture to Remembrance Sunday (November 10) and Armistice Day (November 11).
Ahead of kick-off, the club will come together to remember those who served our country.
Wreaths will be laid by club staff and representatives from the armed forces.
There will then be a rendition of the Last Post followed by a one-minute silence that will begin and end on the referee's whistle.
During the game, players will wear armbands with a poppy on them. There will also be a poppy on the cover of the matchday programme.
Further details and timings for our Remembrance Match are as follows:
2:50pm: Flag bearers line up
2:52pm: Players exit the tunnel and line up around the centre circle.
2:54pm: Wing Commander Paddy Durnin, Station Commander RAF Shawbury, Michael Appleton and Newport head coach David Hughes lay remembrance wreaths
2:55pm: For The Fallen is read out and the Last Post is played.
2:56pm: A one-minute silence is marked by the referee's whistle.
2:57pm: The coin toss.
3pm: Kick-off.
