Town Receive Employer Recognition Award
We are pleased to announce that we have been selected to receive the silver award under the Defence Recognition Scheme for our work supporting the Armed Forces.
The club has been at bronze level for many years, and news of this award represents a proud moment.
Through the Employer Recognition Scheme, the Ministry of Defence publicly recognises the commitment that the club and foundation demonstrate through being a supportive employer and acting as advocates for people in the Armed Forces community.
This has been achieved by numerous activities such as developing club policies to aid Armed Forces families, opportunities for reservists, workshops for the Armed Forces, open day activity, and of course, our annual Armed Forces Day.
The award will be presented to the club at the National Arboretum on Wednesday, September 17.
Senior safeguarding manager and EDI lead John Rhodes said:
"We are over the moon to receive this accolade.
"As a club and especially through the chairman, we have always been huge advocates of the Armed Forces and their families, especially with the work they do all over the world.
"This award exemplifies that whilst also demonstrating the club does invaluable work away from the football pitch, there are many people who deserve great credit for the work they do, and this award is also for them."
