Vacancy | Shrewsbury Town Foundation - Media & Communications Officer

The Shrewsbury Town Foundation and Shrewsbury Town Football Club have a unique opening for a communications executive to work across both organisations.

The primary focus of the role will be to capture and promote the outstanding work of the Foundation, the club’s charitable arm, helping to tell the stories that showcase its impact across the community.

The successful applicant will also support the club’s media team, contributing to coverage of the men’s first team and academy.

On a day-to-day basis, the role will involve leading the foundation’s media strategy, producing engaging written and video content for the charity’s website and across its various social media channels.

Your work will also appear on all official Shrewsbury Town channels.

You will need to have excellent videography skills and experience working with both Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro or alternative editing software. You will also need to be comfortable filming with a camera and with a phone.

This role requires attendance at all home matches and may, occasionally, involve working unsocial hours.

Main duties:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing and communication plans to promote the foundation’s programmes and initiatives
  • Create content for social media, website and other digital platforms that engage audiences and promote the foundation's mission
  • Manage the foundation’s social media accounts and online presence, including monitoring engagement and responding to comments and messages
  • Support the Shrewsbury Town FC media team in their coverage of men's first team, academy and women's team
  • Design and produce promotional materials, such as flyers, posters and brochures
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local media outlets to secure coverage of the foundation’s events and activities
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of marketing and communication strategies, using data and analytics to optimise future efforts
  • Work collaboratively with other departments and fellow staff members and external partners to ensure consistently of messaging and branding
  • Manage the foundation’s database and mailing lists, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information, ensuring that all images have agreed photo consent

Contract type – Permanent

Hours per week – 37.5

Salary – £25,000 per annum
