Walk92 visit the Croud Meadow
We welcomed Walk92’s Xavier to the Croud Meadow on Friday as part of his fundraising challenge and spoke to him about the impactful work of our foundation and the positive power of football.
As part of his Walk92 challenge, Xavier has been undertaking the mammoth task of walking over 2500 miles, visiting all 92 league football clubs in 92 days to raise awareness of the positive impact football clubs can have on their community.
He’s taken on this challenge to raise money for three causes that are close to his heart: Dons Local Action Group, Street Soccer Foundation, and Sport Local Action’s Food Bank. Xavier believes in the power of sport to unite people, tackle poverty, support those facing homelessness and create lasting change in the community.
We were the 23rd club on his 92 club tour, and we had the pleasure of showcasing the work of the foundation, which delivers impactful and life-changing programmes every day.
From social hubs and fitness classes that support the body and mind, to our inclusion, education and employability provisions that break down barriers and build stronger futures, we’re incredibly proud of the work the foundation does and the support that we’re able to offer as it proves that the impact of football spreads far beyond what happens on a matchday.
Xavier’s fundraising challenge is all about highlighting the support that’s available through football clubs up and down the country and it was an absolute pleasure to welcome him to the Croud Meadow.
We wish Xavier the very best of luck with the rest of his challenge and urge the football community to rally behind him. To follow his journey, please visit Walk92UK on Facebook, and to support his fundraising efforts, please visit THIS LINK.
