Gavin Cowan - Interview | Post-Salford

Manager Gavin Cowan met with the media after watching his Shrewsbury side secure a thrilling Carabao Cup victory at Salford.

Salop clinched a place in the second round of the competition with a brilliant performance at the AIG Stadium.

Josh Davison deservedly put Town 1-0 up - but Salford managed to equalise through Kyrell Malcolm after Sam Stubbs was incredibly unfortunate to pick up a second yellow card.

That meant the game went to penalties - which Salop won thanks to an outstanding performance from Will Brook, with the goalkeeper saving four spot-kicks.

Speaking to the media post-match, Gavin reflected on what was a thoroughly entertaining cup clash.

The boss also chatted about the red card Stubbs received and gave a transfer update with the boss still wanting to make two or three additions before the window closes.
