Will Brook was Shrewsbury’s penalty shootout hero as Gavin Cowan’s side secured a deserved win at Salford.

The goalkeeper produced a stunning display in the shootout, saving four spot-kicks to send Salop through to the second round of the Carabao Cup after a thrilling game at the AIG Stadium.

Josh Davison had given Town a deserved lead before Kyrell Malcolm levelled for the hosts after Sam Stubbs was harshly shown a second yellow card.

Speaking to the media after the match, Brook reflected on his heroics from the spot, the character shown by the team and the impressive performance that earned Salop their place in the next round.
