Two Shrewsbury Town legends to be honoured as part of 140th celebrations

Shrewsbury Town supporters have chosen the two club legends who will be honoured with permanent banners outside the Croud Meadow as part of our 140th anniversary celebrations.

Following the conclusion of our fan vote, Jake King and Mickey Brown have been selected to join an illustrious group of Salop greats already immortalised outside the stadium.

The pair will join Graham Turner, Alf Wood, Ken Mulhearn and Arthur Rowley, who already have permanent banners celebrating their outstanding contributions to the club.

The initial plan was to honour the legend who received the most votes with a permanent banner outside the Croud Meadow.

However, with Jake and Mickey finishing clear at the top of the poll, the club has decided to honour them both with permanent banners.

The latest additions form part of a series of initiatives taking place throughout our 140th anniversary year, with supporters at the heart of the celebrations.

One of the biggest projects has been enhancing the look and feel of the Croud Meadow through the installation of a series of large-scale stadium graphics celebrating the club's history.

Giant corner graphics have already been installed in the apex of each stand, helping to strengthen the stadium's identity.

Every design was chosen by supporters through a fan vote, with the majority of the graphics now in place.

As part of the improvements, all of the block number signage throughout the Croud Meadow has also been transformed.

The previous white signs have been replaced with designs inspired by some of the most iconic shirts in Salop's history, bringing another touch of the club's history to the stadium.
