Salop Away: Tranmere Rovers fan guide

Salop travel to the Wirral this Saturday as we kick off our Sky Bet League Two campaign against Tranmere Rovers.

We've put together everything you'll need to know ahead of our league opener, from getting to the stadium to nearby pubs, parking, food, and ground information.

Whether you're making the trip for the first time or you're a regular on the road, you'll find all the key information you need here.

Travel:

For Salop fans travelling by car, there is parking available at the Mersey clipper pub pay and display.

Blue badge holders can park within the residents parking zone.

Street parking is available within a 10 minute walk of Prenton Park.

For supporters travelling by train: 

From Liverpool Lime Street

Head for the Wirral Line lower level station and board a New Brighton or West Kirby train to

Conway Park, or an Ellesmere Port or Chester train to Birkenhead Central or Rock Ferry.

From Chester

Board a Liverpool train and get off at Rock Ferry or Birkenhead Central.

From Birkenhead Central

Cross Argyle Street and walk along Borough Road which runs parallel to the flyover.

Prenton Park is approximately a 20 minute walk.

From Rock Ferry

Prenton Park is a 15 minute walk. Turn right outside the station onto Bedford Road.

Continue along Bedford Avenue and Bedford Drive until you reach a road junction shortly after Prenton High School.

Continue onto Mount Road and turn right at the first set of traffic lights onto Borough Road.

The ground is five minutes on the left.

Away End:

Salop fans will be housed in the Cowshed Stand, which is situated on Prenton Road West.  

Cowsheds Catering offers a wide range of food and drink options in the Cowsheds Stand, including alcoholic drinks.

Serving hot and cold drinks, burgers and pies, as well as different specials each game.

There are multiple options for pubs around the ground, with the Birch Tree and the Prenton Park pub both situated close to the ground.

Inside the ground, Tranmere offer stoma-friendly toilets and also offer a quiet room, which can be used for breastfeeding as well as a prayer space and for neurodiverse.

If you require use of the quiet room, ask one of the stewards, who will be happy to help.

Kit:

Salop will line up in their amber away strip for the first time competitively, with the goalkeepers sporting the new purple goalkeeper shirt.
