Manager Gavin Cowan met with the media after his Shrewsbury side suffered defeat on the opening day of the League Two season at Prenton Park.

Salop fell to a 2-0 defeat against Tranmere Rovers, despite arguably shading a keenly-contested first half.

Jordan Davies broke the deadlock for the hosts before Charlie Whitaker doubled their lead early in the second half to seal the points.

Speaking to the media post-match, Gavin reflected on the opening-day contest on Merseyside.

The boss also chatted about his appreciation for the travelling support and getting back to work ahead of next week's home fixture against Barnet.
