Boss Gavin Cowan enjoyed a chat with the media after watching his Shrewsbury side secure a deserved win over Salford.

Skipper Will Boyle was the man on target as Salop ran out 1-0 victors at the Croud Meadow.

In what was an assured performance from Cowan’s side, Salop could have won by a greater margin.

Isaac Fletcher came inches away from scoring in the first few minutes with an effort that flew narrowly over the bar, while the visitors were forced into some heroic last-ditch defending to keep the scoreline down.

Speaking to the media after the final whistle, Cowan reflected on an impressive afternoon for his side and provided an update on Town’s transfer business, with the window set to close at 11pm on Tuesday.
