George Nurse departs by mutual consent

George Nurse has left Shrewsbury Town by mutual consent.

The left-sided defender joined Salop from his boyhood club, Bristol City, in the summer of 2021, and he missed just one game in all competitions during his first campaign in Shropshire.

Injuries made the next two seasons difficult for Nursey, but he would make 25 appearances for the club in 2024/25 and a further five this season, with loans to Yeovil Town and Solihull Moors providing valuable minutes for the 26-year-old.

Everyone at Shrewsbury Town wishes Nursey and his family the very best for the future and we thank him for all his efforts during his four-and-a-half years with us.
