He's back! Jack Price returns to Shrewsbury!

Shrewsbury Town are thrilled to announce midfielder Jack Price has returned to his hometown club.

Price returns with a wealth of experience from his distinguished career, including lengthy spells at Wolves and MLS side Colorado Rapids.

Jack spent his 2025/26 campaign at Brackley Town and now reunites with gaffer Gavin Cowan for his return to the EFL.

During his time with the Colorado Rapids, Price secured the team MVP award for four consecutive seasons. He also eclipsed David Beckham's single season record for the most assists from set pieces in 2019.

On Jack's return, manager Gavin Cowan said: ""I'm over the moon to bring Pricey in.

"I was fortunate to work with him at Brackley and, to be honest, I was surprised we managed to get him there.

"I think football can be lazy at times. People don't always do their due diligence, but part of my role is to make sure I do mine.

"Having known Pricey's story, I knew he'd been fit for the last two years. If you'd have told me I'd get 20 games out of him at Brackley, I'd have been over the moon, but while he was with us he was unbelievable.

"His performance in the win we had against Notts County in the FA Cup was probably one of the best individual performances of the season.

"He's incredibly brave on the ball and probably fitter than he's ever been.

"The fact he's local is a bonus, but that's not why we've brought him in. He's a great character, and anyone thinking we've signed him simply because he lives around the corner couldn't be further from the truth.

"He's going to be a fantastic asset for the likes of Isaac England and Will Gray.

"Having someone with that experience is invaluable, but it's also important to remember he hasn't had the same wear and tear on his body over the last few years.

"He's fighting fit, his physical testing has been through the roof, and when we need someone who's brave enough to get on the ball and help us control the game, there's nobody better.

"Dave (Edwards) and I have spoken a lot about how pleased we are to have him in the building because he'll make the players around him braver.

"He'll give them confidence. He wants the ball in areas where others might shy away from it, and that's infectious."
