First Interview - Jay Turner-Cooke

New signing Jay Turner-Cooke sat down with the Shrewsbury Town media team to discuss his move to the Croud Meadow.

The talented midfielder officially signed a two-year deal with the club on Saturday before training with his team mates for the first time today.

Salop had to beat off competition from a host of clubs to land Turner-Cooke after he shone in the National League for Halifax last season.

Prior to that the 22-year-old came through the youth ranks at Premier League giants Newcastle.

Speaking to club intern Logan Lawrence - who is from Chicago, Jay explained why manager Gavin Cowan played a pivotal role in his decision to join Salop, revealing he knew Shrewsbury was the right club for him after meeting the boss last week.

The midfielder also reflected on his career so far and outlined what supporters can expect to see from him during the 2026/27 campaign.
