Vacancy | Lead Academy Strength & Conditioning Coach

Shrewsbury Town Academy is seeking to appoint an ambitious and highly motivated Lead Academy Strength & Conditioning Coach to oversee the physical development of our Academy players.

The successful candidate will lead the Academy's Strength & Conditioning department, delivering and implementing an age-appropriate physical development programme for players from Under-9s through to Under-18s.

The role will involve planning and delivering practical coaching sessions, designing individual physical development programmes, supporting the continued evolution of the Academy's physical performance strategy and managing staff within the department.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the development of the next generation of Shrewsbury Town players within a progressive Academy environment.

About the Candidate

Essential:

MSc in Sport Science, Strength & Conditioning or a related discipline.

FA Emergency First Aid in Football (EFAiF) qualification (or equivalent).

Previous experience in a similar Strength & Conditioning role.

Full UK driving licence.

Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).

Strong IT and computer literacy skills.

Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable:

Experience working within an Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP) Academy.

Knowledge and experience of Kitman Labs.

Understanding of Academy audit processes.

Experience of working with players across multiple age groups in an elite football environment.
