Gavin Cowan Post-Hereford

Manager Gavin Cowan spoke to the media after watching his Shrewsbury play out a 1-1 draw with Hereford in an entertaining pre-season friendly.

Town made the short trip to Edgar Street this evening for what proved to be a competitive encounter, that was anything but friendly.

Salop fell behind to the hosts inside the opening minutes following an excellent strike from Billy Phillips.

From that point, Will Boyle, Sam Stubbs, Isaac England, Isaac Fletcher and Josh Davison all went close before the interval.

Despite creating that plethora of chances, Town fans had to wait until the 66th minute to see their side equalise, following George Lloyd’s beautiful finish from far out.

After that, Arkell Jude-Boyd, Kevin Berkoe and Jeval Thompson-McKenzie all came close to winning it.

Speaking after the match, Gavin joked Hereford's goal was living a charmed life with Salop having created so many opportunities.

The boss reflected on what was a dominant performance, provided a fitness update, and assessed Town's pre-season schedule with just one friendly left to go before the competitive action gets underway.
